Beauty Tips From Kitchen # 2 Watermelon

Watermelon… don't we all love it….thanda -thanda watermelon…ah… there is nothing as refreshing as icy cold watermelon on a hot summer day.

(Googled:- Watermelon's botanical name is Citrullus lanatus and belongs to the family Curcurbitacae and is related to cucumber family. Watermelon contains 92% water, no fat or cholesterol, and is a great source for vitamin A, B, C and beta- carotene. Hence it an ideal health food.)

But not only our body loves it so does our skin.. Yes, watermelon is very good for our skin too. Some of the benefits of watermelon are:
  • It is very useful for removing blemishes on the skin.
  • Acids in the fruit acts as exfoliates.
  • It tightens the skin pores immediately (but the effect is temporary)
  • Helps in even skin tone.
  • Helps in Oil control.
  • Gives a glow to the skin.. (yes one week of regular use gives me a facial wala glow)
But the fact is if watermelon is tasty and sweet we are tempted to eat all of it.. If its not that tasty to 'uska kuch bhi kro hme nai pata I'm not going to eat it'. That type of watermelon is free to use as face scrub or what not.. But if its tasty..well I've a solution…as that’s what exactly happened with me…my watermelon was sweet as sugar…

What I did was I used that red part which is left on the peels of watermelon.. Which none of us eat as if scraped out some white part comes with it… I scraped that small red part, put them in a bowl and kept them in freezer.. So that they will remain fresh for few days..I neither mashed them nor make juice of them..too lazy for that….now whenever I wished I would just pick one piece and rub it on my face and neck…simple…

What do you do when feeling lazy…????
